Leicester City midfielder, Riyad Mahrez, has earned the applause of former Cameroonian football legend, Patrick M’boma.
According to Mboma, Mahrez’s exploits in the Premier League had lifted African football.
Speaking on Africanews weekly sports show, Football planet, the former striker praised the performance of African players especially that of the Leicester winger that will see him play in the UEFA champions league.
“I want to say that I was very impressed by African players playing in the UEFA Champions League. Many of the players did some good jobs in the league and in the competition and you heard about Mahrez and Aubameyeng,” said Mboma.

“Even in Leicester he will shine but also if he goes to another club he will probably shine,” he added
Algerian midfielder Riyad Mahrez was named PFA Player of the Year on April 24, becoming the first Leicester player and the first African to win the award.
The Leicester star has scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in the premier league.
